Bringing Up Baby
Seems we are ever-closer to customizing the genetic make-up of our children. I don't have enough time in my day to consider the pros and cons of this issue; since I'm beyond having children, I've let this issue percolate untended and unloved on the back burner of my consciousness. I know there are extremely thorny religious, moral and ethical questions surrounding the selection of traits for one's offspring. But unless they isolate a specific gene that would compel a child to disabuse geriatric baby-boomer assholes of their Medicare, gouge their eyes out with Popsicle sticks, then stuff them down an incinerator chute, I'm not going to sweat this one.
